GOL Transportes Aereos, launched in January 2001 as the first low-fare airline in Brazil, is the fastest growing airline in South America. GOL is also the largest operator of the Next Generation Boeing 737 in Latin America. The airline operates both the 700 and 800 version of the aircraft on routes across Brazil.

After an introduction to the company and a look "behind the scenes" we follow a crew on a 4-day trip across Brazil in the cockpit of the B737-700 including several approaches and landings at the very scenic Santos Dumont Airport located in Rio de Janeiro.

Helios Airways is the first independent airline in Cyprus having commenced charter operations in May 2000 and scheduled operations in April 2001. It is the first airline in Cyprus to introduce new Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft and concentrates its efforts on safety, punctuality, reliability and excellent service.

This program includes scheduled flights to London's Luton Airport as well as to Sofia and charter flights from Larnaca and Paphos to Bournemouth and Cairo. Hello began operations in August 2004 with a Douglas MD90. It has since tripled its fleet and is looking at continued expansion. The airline operates charter flights as well as leases to other airlines.

Japan Air Commuter, based in Kagoshima, was created in 1983. The airline initiated its first scheduled service in 1988 with a YS-11 from Kagoshima to Okinoerabu. Since then it has taken over various routes of its principle owner JAS (Japan Air System).

Currently JAC operates 12 YS-11s on 17 routes with 66 flights a day and 11 Saab 340Bs on 24 routes with 72 flights a day. Soon the Dash 8 Q400 will be replacing its fleet of YS-11 which will all be retired by the end of 2006.

Kenya Airways is completing a fleet renewal that will see it operate the most modern Boeing aircraft (including B767-300 & B737-700 with winglets) on regional African and long haul intercontinental flights. From its hub at the Nairobi International Airport it serves regional destinations in countries all across Africa as well as destinations in Europe, The Middle East and India. Flamingo Airlines operates a fleet of Saab 340s on domestic flights around Kenya.

LAM, the national carrier of Mozambique Airlines was founded in 1936 as DETA. In November 1980 the name was changed to LAM Mozambique Airlines. LAM provides service on domestic and regional routes with a fleet of Boeing 737's as well as a mix of regional aircraft including the Embraer 120 and Jetstream 41. Intercontinental routes are operated with the B767.

Lao Airlines, the national airline of Laos, operates a fleet of Airbus A320s and ATR72s on domestic and regional international routes from its main base at Vientiane Airport.

This program follows these aircraft on domestic flights to a pair of cities in Laos. After landing in Luang Prabang we skip the return flight for a tour of the city and catch the next ATR flight back to Vientiane. One domestic flight is filmed in the cabin. MNG Airlines started cargo operations in 1997 with a fleet of Airbus A300 Freighters which serve destinations around the world. MNG also operates on behalf of many other airlines. The airline added passenger services which are operated with Airbus A300s and Boeing 737s.

On this program we follow an Airbus A300 Freighter on a roundtrip flight to Asia with landings at Karachi, Pakistan ; we then go on an European route with stops in London and Holland where we pick up horses. We complete the program with a trio of flights on the passenger Boeing 737-400 into Belgium, Germany and Dalaman Turkey.
